ThoughtCrime: 01/07/98

Flemish Police Raid Revisionist Publisher

On January 7, 1998, Flemish police raided several addresses of a publisher of revisionist materials in Belgium. The publisher, Foundation for Free Historical Research, or Vrij Historisch Onderzoek (VHO) was also raided on the 21st and 27th of November 1997.

It is reported that the reason behind the police raid was the publication and distribution of a revisionist booklet entitled "Answer to the Goldhagen and Spielberg Lies" (Antwort auf die Goldhagen- und Spielberglügen).

Siegfried Verbeke, main activist of V.H.O., distributed this broschure on a panel discussion at the beginning of Nov. 1997, which was organized and led by well known Dutch and Belgian Holocaust promotors to discuss the growing revisionist movement in Belgium and the Netherlands.

Damage resulting from the raid is said to be limited.

Vrij Historisch Onderzoek may be reached at:
PO Box 60, B-2600 Berchem 2, Belgium.

VHO also maintains a website at http://www.vho.org
