Barry R. Leventhal, Ph.D.

Dr. Barry R. Leventhal is a messianic Jew, a Jewish believer in the Lord Yeshua (Jesus). He was raised in the Jewish community of Los Angeles, California. He has taught and written extensively on many topics, concentrating especially on the subject of the Holocaust.

Dr. Leventhal is currently serving as Distinguished Senior Professor at Southern Evangelical Seminary in Matthews, North Carolina, where he formerly served as Provost and Academic Dean. In addition to his other responsibilities at SES, Dr. Leventhal also serves as Director of the Graduate School of Ministry Program.

Barry has been married to Mary for over 48 years. They have four adult children and seventeen grandchildren.  Barry and Mary reside in Matthews, North Carolina.

Dr. Leventhal received his B.S. in Secondary Education from the University of California at Los Angeles (1966). He went on to earn his Th.M. (1972) and then his Ph.D. (1982) from Dallas Theological Seminary.
