Crematories and Cremations

All – or at least almost all – the remains of the six million murdered Jews are said to have disappeared tracelessly by means of incinerating them in crematories or on pyres. Such cremations are technically more or less demanding and can thus be scrutinized.

In 1993, the French Auschwitz historian Jean-Claude Pressac published a document in his book Les Crématoires d'Auschwitz: La Machinerie du Meurtre de Masse (CNRS éditions, Paris, 1993, p. 72 and document 28), which he presented as ultimate proof that hydrogen cyanide was indeed used in the crematoria morgues at Auschwitz-Birkenau …

When American expert for execution techniques Fredrick A. Leuchter presented his famous expert report on the gas chambers of Auschwitz and Majdanek to a Canadian court in 1988, he initially caused confusion: in his technical drawings of the morgues no. 1 of the crematoria II and III of Auschwitz-Birkenau, which …

Preliminary Remarks Shortly after the Wehrmacht had occupied the Ukrainian city of Lemberg (30 June 1941), a work camp for Jews was set up on Yanovska street. At the Nuremberg tribunal, the Soviet prosecution claimed that this facility had simultaneously served as a “death camp” where huge numbers of prisoners …

Since the end of World War II, authoritative claims about the character and scope of killings at the Auschwitz concentration camp have changed drastically. One particularly striking change concerns the various “official” estimates of the number of victims – a number that since 1945 has been steadily declining. Fritjof Meyer …

Despite the May 11 conviction of Revisionist activist and publisher Ernst Zündel in Toronto for "knowingly and injuriously spreading a false report," the second trial of Ernst Zündel was a Pyrrhic victory for Holocaust Exterrninationists. As in Zündel’s 1985 trial, Revisionist scholars and researchers presented a mass of new evidence …

These were the trials of the top surviving members of the Nazi leadership. At the conclusion of the trials, a set of volumes would be produced documenting the evidence …

I wish to reply to Carlo Mattogno’s articles on gas detectors for the crematorium at Auschwitz (TR, pp. 140–155, May 2004), and the editor’s prologue to those articles. In 1998 Mattogno and I wanted to air this issue in the Journal of Historical Review, but the editor declined to carry …

Before 1943, the only crematorium at Auschwitz was the six muffle installation at "Auschwitz I", i.e. the Stammlager (main or original camp). This was "Crematorium I". A "muffle" is the familiar chamber designed to admit one body and has a door of appropriate size. Early in 1942, plans were drawn …

Dear AnswerMan, How do you explain the crematorium at Birkenau? Pauline Friedman AnswerMan Replies: If there is a topic that has been more thoroughly examined by revisionists than the Birkenau crematoria, I do not know what it is. My answer will be brief. Anyone desirous of more details should examine …

Treblinka is widely regarded as the second most important German wartime extermination center. Only Auschwitz-Birkenau is supposed to have claimed more lives. Treblinka became the focus of worldwide attention in 1987-1988 during the 14-month trial in Jerusalem of John (Ivan) Demjanjuk, a Ukrainian-born American factory worker. As Treblinka's "Ivan the …

1. Introduction It is commonly alleged that a small (approximately 14 hectares large) camp in eastern Poland, usually denoted Treblinka II, served as a “pure extermination camp” for Jews between the end of July 1942 and August 1943. It is further alleged that at this camp somewhere between 700,000 and …

Let’s say, hypothetically speaking, that someone wanted to design and implement a systematic process for mass-murdering hundreds of thousands of people, in a short period of time, using poisonous gas. How might one go about doing this? This is the question that must have been brought to bear on certain …

"While in the crematorium ovens [of Auschwitz], once corpses were thoroughly alight, it was possible to maintain a lasting red heat with the help of fans, in the pits the fire would burn only as long as the air could circulate freely in between the bodies. As the heap of …

1. Introduction In the following brief article, I will discuss the ground water level at the alleged extermination camp Sobibór during its period of operation, that is between early summer 1942 and autumn 1943, and to what insights gleaned from witness statements, as well as geographical and topographical data implies …

It was long presumed that the alleged German policy to exterminate the Jews of Europe was set in motion by a direct, if not a written order, from Adolf Hitler. This purported order was cited in the main Nuremberg trial a 1945-46 and in subsequent trials of "Nazi war criminals." …

In 1999, an article by Tregenza entitled "Bełżec – Das vergessene Lager des Holocaust" (Bełżec – The Forgotten Camp of the Holocaust) was published in a German anthology of academic writing on the Holocaust.[1] This article was later critiqued by Italian revisionist researcher and writer Carlo Mattogno in his …

Two Studies on the Ground Water Level in Auschwitz and its Consequences in History Many former inmates as well as guards of the former National Socialist concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau claim that hundred thousands of corpses of murdered inmates were burned in ditches some 6 to 10 ft. deep. However, almost …

Eyewitnesses of the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp have frequently testified that thick smoke belched out of the chimneys of the four crematories of that camp. One classic example is the testimony of former Auschwitz inmate Arnold Friedman. While being cross-examined about his experiences at Auschwitz, Friedman stated during the first Zündel trial …

The article "Grundwasser im Gelände des KGL Kriegsgefangenenlager Birkenau" ("Ground Water Levels at Birkenau Prisoner of War Camp") by Michael Gärtner and Werner Rademarcher,[4] published in German for the first time in 1998 and reproduced in this edition, attempts to show that the existence of "cremation pits" in the …
