Author: Raul Hilberg

Raul Hilberg (June 2, 1926 – August 4, 2007) was an Austrian-born Jewish-American political scientist and historian. He was widely considered to be the world's preeminent orthodox scholar of the Holocaust, and it is indicative for the weak orthodox position that his highly-flawed three-volume, 1,273-page magnum opus The Destruction of the European Jews is regarded as a seminal orthdox study of the Holocaust. At the first trial of Ernst Zündel in 1985, he testified as a witness for the prosecution as an expert on the Holocaust. For four days, the brillant defence attorney Douglas Christie exposed Hilberg's embarrassing lack of any in-depth knowledge. Hence, during the second Zündel Trial in 1988, he declined to return to the witness stand!
