Orthodoxy Criticized

Critique and counter-critique is one of the hallmarks of a scholarly attitude, so it goes without saying that revisionists are taking their opponents’ arguments and responses seriously. Hence, this section addresses the theses of several orthodox scholars on the Holocaust which have evoked revisionist responses. Although most orthodox scholars insist that revisionist arguments are not even worth looking at, a number of them have in fact breached the taboo and have not only looked at revisionist arguments, but have actually deigned to criticize them in one way or other. The revisionist responses and rebuttals can be found here as well.

Robert Jan van Pelt: The Case for Auschwitz

British historian David Irving was viciously smeared by the media after his testimony at the 1988 Ernst Zündel false-news trial in Toronto. As part of the smear campaign against Irving, Deborah Lipstadt writes in her book Denying the Holocaust that “on some level Irving seems to conceive himself as carrying on Hitler’s legacy.” David Irving filed a libel suit against Deborah Lipstadt in British courts to attempt to end these and other similar statements. Canadian-Jewish architectural historian Robert Jan van Pelt was hired by Lipstadt’s defense team to act as an expert witness for Lipstadt’s defense. Van Pelt wrote for this trial a 700-page report addressing the historical and forensic evidence for the gas chambers at Auschwitz-Birkenau. He subsequently wrote the book, The Case for Auschwitz, which presents the bulk of the evidence he submitted in his expert report for this trial. This article discusses some weaknesses in van Pelt’s research which was designed to discredit David Irving’s views of the “Holocaust.”

Christopher Browning on the “Holocaust”

U.S. American historian Christopher Browning is a professor of history at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His research focuses on National-Socialist Germany and the so-called Holocaust. He has written extensively about German policy and decision making regarding the “Holocaust”; the behavior and motives of various German personnel involved in implementing National-Socialist Germany’s Jewish policy; and the use of survivor testimony to explore Jewish responses and survival strategies. Browning has also served as a paid expert witness in at least two major trials. This article discusses some of the weaknesses of Browning’s research regarding the “Holocaust.”

The Ghetto of Lodz in Holocaust Propaganda

style=”margin-bottom: 0.14in”>The Lodz Ghetto was, after Warsaw, the second-largest Jewish ghetto in Poland during the Second World War. It was established in February 1940, and counted 140,000 occupants by the end of that year. Because of the enormous number of everyday objects of all kinds produced there, particularly in the area of textiles, the ghetto rapidly became a critical center of production for the German economy. In the summer of 1944, the ghetto was dissolved, and all inhabitants transferred elsewhere. The orthodoxy insists that they were all murdered around that time, some of them first to Chelmno, then the rest to Auschwitz. This article follows the documental trail of these Jews and shows, that the orthodox narrative his highly flawed.

“Wannsee: The Road to the Final Solution”

German historian Dr. Peter Longerich’s latest book Wannsee: The Road to the Final Solution documents the alleged importance of the Wannsee Conference held in the Berlin suburb of Wannsee on January 20, 1942. Longerich writes that this conference's “minutes are unique because, more than any other document, they demonstrate with total clarity the decision-making process that led to the murder of the European Jews.” This article discusses whether these minutes actually document “with total clarity” the decision-making process that led to the so-called Holocaust.

Peter Longerich on the “Holocaust”

German historian Dr. Peter Longerich is regarded by many as one of the leading authorities on the "Holocaust." Longerich was hired as an expert defense witness in David Irving’s libel suit against Deborah Lipstadt and her publisher Penguin Books. He prepared two reports for this civil action. Longerich later wrote books expanding on his research for this trial. This article discusses some of the weaknesses of Longerich’s research regarding the so-called Holocaust.

Richard J. Evans: The New Wave of “Court” Historian

Richard J. Evans was a professor of Modern History at Cambridge University and a specialist in modern German history. The verdict in the case holds that Evans’s expert report in David Irving’s 2000 libel suit against Deborah Lipstadt proves Irving’s intentional deceptions as to the history of which Irving has written. This article reviews faults in Evans’s findings regarding two historical subjects: the “Holocaust” and the 1945 bombing of Dresden, Germany.

Jan Van Pelt Zyklon B Nonsense

In this 14 minute video, Jim Rizoli demolishes the fantasy promoted by Robert van Pelt, a so-called "Holocaust" expert. Van Pelt claims that in the homocidal "gas chamber" the Nazis had installed wire mesh cages in order to prevent the victims from kicking the Zyclon B around or even pushing the Zyclon B back out…
