HITLER´S POPE. Dennis Wise Pete Papaherakles Brian Ruhe (1:43:23)
HITLER´S POPE. Dennis Wise, Pete Papaherakles, and Brian Ruhe examine the role of the WW2 Pope in this (1 hour and 43 minute) video, in 2018. Eugenio Maria Giuseppe Giovanni Pacelli (1876 – 1958) an Italian cardinal became Pope Pius XII in 1939 and remained so until his death in 1958. Pope Pius XII as the head of a tiny independent state in Rome, had to steer a careful role, in World War II order to maintain his position with the Italian Fascists, later the German National Socialists, the allied powers, and the Catholics worldwide. The Allies regarded him as pro-Hitler as Pope Pius XII welcomed the attack on the Soviet Union, the Jews said that he didn't do enough for them, and the German National Socialists thought he was pro-allied.
