Spot the Secret Nazi Code…Director Sabine Has!
Germany’s largest supermarket chain has been criticized for a Christmas television advertisement that a government official claims contains covert neo-Nazi codes.
Sabine Bamberger-Stemmann, the director of Hamburg’s agency of civic education, a federal public authority that provides political education across Germany has analysed the number plates and said she is convinced the Nazi symbolism must have been deliberately placed.
Here is the video advertisement. Can you spot the secret Nazi code? The answers are below.
The answer is in the automobile license plates. Sabine has analyzed the number plates and said she is convinced the Nazi symbolism must have been deliberately placed. “The 420 comes from the Anglo-Saxon area, but in rightwing circles here it’s also the established abbreviation for Hitler’s birthday,” Sabine claimed “The ‘84’ clearly stands for Heil Deutschland,” she added.
“The statement being made is very clear.” Sabine also sees something sinister in the content of the ad. She said that in addition to the symbolism, the ad did its best to “convey an idyllic world, thereby conveying values that the new right stands for”.
Sabine is hereby awarded CODOH's 2016 Paranoid Grinch Award.
