December 20, 2006: David Irving was released on probation and freed from prison, after his appeal in court, on the morning of December 20, 2006.
The remainder of his 3 year imprisonment has been converted to a suspended sentence. Later that day, the British historian was returned to jail in a detention centre for foreigners, from where he awaits extradition straight back to the UK, tomorrow.
