In Auschwitz We Had Cookies and Crackers
In this short video, a "holocaust" survivor relates that she was sent to work in "Canada" after being deported to Birkenau. "Canada" was a barracks at Birkenau where items were sorted. So called, because it was a "rich area". The woman relates that the work was not hard, not physical (like carrying bricks etc), was under cover from rain and sun. The only thing was that food was rationed, but she says that the women had cookies, crackers, bread and sugar in their food bundles.
