Dr. Jan Markiewicz obtained a Master of Science degree in the field of chemistry in 1947 and a PhD in natural sciences in 1963. Between 1966 and 1991 he was Director of the Institute of Forensic Research in Krakow, and in 1983 he became Assistant Professor of Natural Science.[1] Dr. Markiewcz died in 1997
