Israel Shahak (born April 29, 1933, Warsaw, Poland; died July 2, 2001) was a survivor of the Warsaw Ghetto during WWII, later an Israeli professor of organic chemistry at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, a civil-rights advocate for Palestinians, and a harsh critic of the Jewish religion.
