Testimony of Eva Brewster: According to Eva Brewster, she developed a fever, and was sent to the hospital. The beds had clean sheets, good blankets, and bread & jam on the tables. She had typhus and were sent to another ward to die. A Jewess from Greece died in her arms as they tried to keep warm despite having a bunk bed. The medical staff thought she was dead and put her on a pile of corpses in the corner. Here, Eva saw herself looking down on her corpse, in a out of body experience. From this lofty position, she saw a rat run over her leg, and she revived. Doctor Mengele and a nurse appeared. The nurse began to beat Eva, as she didn't believe her story how she got on top of the pile. Eventually Doctor Mengele interceded, and kicked the stool that the nurse was standing on to make her stop.
