Bombing of Dresden by German History Archive
A video clip (6 minutes) showing the beautiful city of Dresden and the aftermath due to an allied bombing raid in 1945. This film is from the German history archive. The fantastic architecture of the city is shown. Then came American B-17 bombers with their vapour trails in the sky as can been seen in the film. The Allied planes are shown releasing their bombs over the burning city. This raid in which RAF Lancaster bombers also took part, resulted in massive casaulties to the German civilian population, and incredible destruction of building, mainly of them historic.
