Dr. Fredrick Töben imprisoned in “Democratic” Germany

Dr. Fredrick Töben, Director of the Adelaide Institute was arrested and imprisoned in Mannheim, Germany on Thursday, April 8, 1999 on the charge of “defaming the memory of the dead.” Current German law allows for the suppression of freedom of speech.

Dr. Töben was arrested after meeting with the Public Prosecutor Hans-Heiko Klein who is known for his persecution of revisionists. Klein apparently invited Toben to return to his office to further discuss his concerns. When Dr. Töben arrived, he was arrested by State Security Police Superintendent Mohr.

He is to be sentenced on Friday, April 9, 1999.

Dr. Töben was in Germany visiting friends and had attended the thoughtcrime trial of Ingrid Weckert, author of several articles and books including: “Flashpoint: Kristallnacht 1938.” Toben was very vocal during the trial and attracted the attention of the court.
