Journal of Historical Review

Volumes 1-21 · 1980 to 2002

The Journal of Historical Review began publication in 1980. Until 2002, when it ceased to exist, it upheld the tradition of Historical Revisionism of scholars such as Harry Elmer Barnes, A.J.P. Taylor, William H. Chamberlin, Paul Rassinier and Charles Tansill. Until 1992, The Journal of Historical Review was published four times a year in a small format (roughly 5.5″×8″). Since 1993 it appeared bimonthly (in letter size format) by the Institute for Historical Review. Back issues of many Journal issues published since Spring 1986 (Volume 7) are available from the IHR at www.ihr.org. CODOH is the only place where you can find online and for free ALL the papers of ALL the issues ever published, both as html and as PDF downloads. 80% of the work was done by Germar Rudolf, the rest by IHR employees.

You can either download each copy as a searchable PDF file (first table) or read each individual paper online (pull up the table of contents for each issue from the second table below, or navigate the Category menu to the left). The PDF we posted are based on scanned images, processed many years ago with a cheap OCR software. Since they have not been edited, they are riddled with errors.

Ronald Reagan’s Political and Cultural Folklore

This article focuses on the American dominant culture’s world view implicit in Ronald Reagan’s politics. Taking a New Left approach to cultural history, it assumes that proletarians, rural people, and “pre-modern” people are not the only social groups who have a folklore; that the American dominant culture also has a folklore; that if New Left…

American Policy Toward Europe: The Fateful Change

Following the final defeat of Napoleonic France, the leaders of Europe gathered for the Congress of Vienna in 1815 to reorganize the war-torn continent. European recovery from the consequences of Napoleon’s downfall was considerably aided by the decent and magnanimous treatment of defeated France by the victorious powers. Henry Kissinger aptly entitled his study of…

Chicago Tribune History

Perhaps the most telling aspect of World War Two historical orthodoxy is its one-dimensional view of war criminals; by current definition these are the losers of a war. The winners decide the degree of the losers' culpability and the depth of their depravity. Apart from this victor's morality play is the reality of the difficult-to-envision…

Karl Marx: Anti-Semite

Karl Marx was not only Jewish, he was descended from an established rabbinical family. His father had abandoned the practice of Judaism in order to function more freely in and with the newly established Prussian state, and in order to attract more clients to his law practice. Biographers do agree that age-old Jewish traditions continued…

In an appearance on a book-talk show on BBC radio, the author was asked why he had written this book. He replied that it was written at the suggestion of his agent. That is perhaps a clue to…

Los Angeles “Museum of Tolerance” to Cost $30 Million

On 30 July of this year, California's Governor, George “Duke” Deukmejian, signed into law SB 337. This bill, introduced by Democratic State Senator David Roberti, of Hollywood, authorizes a grant of $5 million to the Simon Wiesenthal Center of Los Angeles for its “Museum of Tolerance” expansion program. The bill was signed despite the public…

The Sleight-of-Hand of Simon Wiesenthal: “Falso in Uno, Falso in Omnibus”

For many years Simon Wiesenthal has made a highly successful career for himself as the world’s foremost “Nazi hunter.” The American mass media have elevated him to secular sainthood and the U.S. Congress awarded him a special gold medal. In reality Wiesenthal is a proven liar. The most infamous example was his charge that an…
