Confronting OSCE Censorship: Toppling the Holocaust Taboo
Today, the UK Delegation to the OSCE issued a statement calling for all OSCE governments to “safeguard historical truth from political manipulation and emerging digital threats.” The statement depicts Holocaust skepticism as “present-day threats that corrode truth, undermine social cohesion, and fuel antisemitism.” The background of this statement was a recent attack in London that “targeted members of the Jewish community simply for being Jewish.” Holocaust skepticism, so this official statement of the UK government, is part of what allegedly “leads to fear, violence and insecurity today.”
CODOH condemns any act that advocates, promotes, justifies, excuses or condones the violation of anyone’s civil rights and right to self-determination, be that in the past, present or future. We moreover reject any criminal action such as violent attacks, no matter their motivation.
While we agree with the UK government on condemning such actions, we respectfully disagree with the claim that a dissenting view on what happened to minorities persecuted by the Third Reich more than 80 years ago leads to fear, violence and insecurity today. The increased amount of attacks members of Jewish communities have had to endure ever since October 7, 2023, have their origin in persons with a Jewish background and/or with Zionist persuasions starting wars of aggression, committing war crimes and perpetrating a genocide. Blaming these attacks on dissenting historians is completely misplaced. In fact, we argue that the shoe is actually on the other foot.
The wars of aggression, war crimes, atrocities and genocides committed by people of a Zionist and/or Jewish persuasion since the late 1930 and in particular since the inception of Israel have been glossed over, excused or even “justified” with what is commonly referred to as “the Holocaust.” This presumably unique genocide is used to commit and then excuse a new genocide, this time against the Palestinians.
The only effective way of preventing future attacks on members of Jewish communities is by preventing Jewish communities and Zionist pressure groups from committing, advocating, promoting, excusing, justifying or condoning aggressive wars, war crimes, mass atrocities and genocides.
The Holocaust is being used to shield Jewish communities and Zionist pressure groups from being held accountable for such acts.
Skepticism regarding the Holocaust’s misuse for political, in fact criminal purposes, as well as regarding its historical veracity and accuracy, are absolutely central for world peace and mutual understanding. Without it, we will continue on the vicious cycle of excusing current and future wars and atrocities with past wars and atrocities.
