How preoccupied is the American Congress with Israel and the Holocaust?
This list of search returns from the Congressional Record and Legislative Status data bases maintained by the United States government for the Congress do not answer that question, but they give a slight clue. Only two words were used in the searches, with results as follows:
“Holocaust“: 152 items in the Congressional Record; 11 legislative references.
“Jerusalem“: 114 items in the Congressional Record; 9 legislative references.
For a total of 286 items.
“Israel” returned 78 pieces of legislation for the 104th Congress, and 31 for the 105th. It gave in excess of 200 items for all three search words. 200 is the limit that can be returned at one time, and there is no clear indication of how to retrieve them all. However, it is obvious that Congress occupied itself with just these three items more than 1,000 times in two sessions, one of which is still open.
To execute a search yourself, on this or previous sessions, use these links:

Search of Legislation for the 109th Congress
Returns will have links to the relevant materials. Funding bills are often huge, containing thousands of items slipped in by various lawmakers. You can adjust the number of returns for the Congressional Record search, but not for legislative.
