Senator Kennedy's statement on the conference report on Internet censorship
I oppose the Internet censorship provision of the telecommunications conference report.
Federal censorship of the Internet is both unconstitutional and unnecessary.
No one condones pornography. But before enacting a blunderbuss ban like this, we ought to support effective alternatives, like software that is currently widely available, that give families greater power to block offensive material.
