Nordhausen-Dora

The Buchenwald subcamp Nordhausen-Dora (also called Dora-Mittelbau), which became an independent camp in late 1944, was of major importance to the German war effort: here the Germans assembled their V1 and V2 rockets engineered by Wernher von Braun and his rocket scientists, using forced labor of concentration camp inmates under a brutal regimen.
