World War I

The war which was fought “to make the world safe for democracy,” as U.S. president Wilson put it. It is remarkable, however, the U.S joined the fight at the side of the French republic, the parliamentary monarchy England, and the absolute monarchy Russia in order to fight the parliamentary monarchies of Germany and Austria. Wilson also stated that this was “the war to end all wars;” to the contrary, it triggered an endless chain of conflicts which continue to this day. That these statements make little sense is itself in keeping with this most senseless fratricidal conflict in European history. Here you can find contributions about the prelude, conduct, and aftermath of this first worldwide conflagration that made the lights go out in Europe; about war crimes – real and invented; and about the Russian Revolution emanating from it.

Hundred Years of War against Germany

In August 1895, a series of articles began in the British weekly The Saturday Review, which called for the annihilation of Germany and whose disastrous greed for German plunder still reverberates to the present day. With the Second Reich, a German state came into being which was rapidly creating a modern economy which imperiled the…

World War I Atrocity Propaganda and the Holocaust

The First Holocaust

Most people believe that roughly six million Jews were killed by National Socialist Germany during World War II in an event generally referred to as the Holocaust or the Shoah. But how long have we known about this six-million figure? The most frequent answer is that the six-million figure was established after the Second World…

A Revisionist Reading List

Although it has been argued that revisionism is as old as history itself, here we will begin with the First World War. The first group of revisionists sought to revise the harsh Treaty of…
